The lucky winner of our recent competition to win a week of Horticultural Heaven at Attadale Estate, is Dr Jennifer Nisbet from Gullane in East Lothian. Congratulations Jennifer!
Staying at one of Attadale’s cosy and well-appointed cottages such as the East Bothy, Jennifer and her family will be free to explore Attadale’s stunning gardens and grounds, which include the Sculpture Collection, the old Wood and Fern Garden and the Rhododendron Walk.
The East Bothy sleeps four people comfortably in one double and one twin bedroom, and is in the most tranquil setting, only a mile from the entrance to Attadale Gardens. One of Attadale’s highlights is the deer that come into the garden to graze in the evening, while cattle and sheep feed nearby.
Jennifer will be joined by her family at Attadale Estate later this year, when the Garden’s vibrant autumnal colours will be at their best, featuring a wealth of rhododendrons and cedars.
Over a thousand new trees were replanted on the estate in the 1990’s and are now well-established, and add to the garden’s fascinating plant collections and tree varieties including oaks, rowans, willows, maples, cypresses, junipers and cherries.
