The Dumfries House Estate features many different areas of interest and is constantly developing. A beautiful parterre and fountain, with herbaceous borders frames the front of the house, while woodland and shrub walks take you along the river past a newly established maze, across the Chinese Bridge. The arboretum leads visitors into the Queen Elizabeth Walled Garden and Education Garden, with many different features of interest.

How to find us

Dumfries House is just off the A70 about 1.5 miles west of the junction with the A76. There are two entrances - one clearly marked 'coaches and deliveries only' and the other, slightly further west, marked 'cars only. Postcode for sat nav is. KA18 2NJ.

Guided tours

Visitors are welcome to drop-in on the day and buy tour tickets at the Visitor Centre. However, as we offer a limited number of tours per day it is advisable to pre-book your tickets on-line or by calling the ticket line.
