Logie House
There has been a 'walled' garden at Logie for over two hundred years - walled on only two sides as it looks down onto the River Findhorn. The ever changing balance between formality, productivity and pleasure garden has been influenced by the families living in Logie House which overlooks the garden. Since 1991 when Panny and Alasdair Laing moved to Logie, and particularly after the major changes in 2009, the emphasis has been to create year round interest with more shrubs and trees, and by opening up the burn which was previously piped underground. The wide range of trees and shrubs have created a microclimate and there are now distinct areas favouring a growing variety of interesting and unusual plants. Alongside the garden is the propagation area for Logie Steading Farm & Garden Shop where many of the plants growing in the garden are for sale. Also at Logie Steading you will find Secondhand books, Wine & Whisky, Antiques, Timeless Fashion, Crafts in Hellygog and contemporary Art in the Gallery. There is lots more information about these independent businesses, and the current courses and other events, at logie.co.uk
How to find us
