Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017
March 6th 20172017 is the year to delve into the past and discover Scotland’s fascinating tangible and intangible heritage through a wide-ranging variety of new and existing events, a vast range of heritage attractions, incredible historic sites and of course, horticultural heritage. From late medieval to modern creations in older settings – the history of the Scottish garden is as rich as the history of Scotland itself.
Do you have an interesting story to tell – for instance do you have a garden walking tour that takes in some of Scotland’s built, cultural or natural heritage along the way? Are you planning an event at your garden this year which could tie in with the themed year? There are a range of free to use promotional tools available (including use of the 2017 logo and promotional wording) to take advantage of the year on VisitScotland’s dedicated 2017 Themed Year business toolkit –www.visitscotland.org/HHA2017.aspx
VisitScotland are welcoming events into their 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology Partner Programme throughout the year – all we ask is that your event is open to the public and aligns with one or more of the three themes. This is a non-funded opportunity for events, open days and festivals to become part of the overall programme of events. There’s also an opportunity to join the conversation across social media platforms using #HHA2017
